Quick Tips to write subject lines that open 2x

Subject lines are important for getting your email open. And if you’re a yoga teacher, you know that opening an email is the first step to getting someone to sign up for your class.

So how can you write subject lines that will get people excited to open your emails? Here are a few quick tips:

1. Start with a question

People love to know what’s in store for them, so start your subject line with a question that will make them curious. For example, “What’s your favorite yoga pose?” or “Can’t wait to see you at class tonight!”

2. Tease them with a little bit of information

If you’re writing about a new class you’re offering, start your subject line with “How to Survive Your First Adventure Race.” If you want to give them the lowdown on the teacher training you just completed, try “I’m now a 500-hr Registered Yoga Teacher!”

One of my favorite things to do is create super specific classes for my students. Like my “Walking Yoga Class: A Gentle Practice to do outdoors.”

Subject Line: “Walk Yourself Happy with this Outdoor Yoga Class”

3. Use alliteration

Alliteration is a great way to get your point across quickly and easily. Try using words that start with the same letter, like “Monday Morning Mantra” or “Yoga for Your Weekends.”

All those early morning mares got you down? Try using those first few minutes on the mat to start your day off right with some Yoga Nidra.

Subject Line: “Zen out this Monday with Yoga Nidra”
